Women’s Guild News

After worship on Sunday, May 6, 2007, the Women’s Guild met in the rear of the sanctuary for an informal meeting. Good attendance constituted a definite quorum. The following questions were discussed:
1.) Irma Hurst, treasurer, announced proceeds from the rummage sale of $878.21. Nora Fisher and her family plus a few others were fine workers to accomplish this. It was discussed that members of the Guild no longer are able to provide sufficient work support for this fund raiser. There was total agreement.
2.) Irma asked for instruction on dispensing funds. It was decided that the Guild will turn over $5000 to the Board of Trustees for emergency use. It was noted to close out the savings account and pay United Church of Christ and Presbyterian mission money for 2007. The checking account will remain in existence. By a unanimous show of hands this passed.
The meeting adjourned with the warm support of all attending. While the Womens’ Guild remains an entity, the group feels these moves support the United Church of Warsaw in a strong position.
