Starburst

Greetings From Starburst:What beautiful weather we are enjoying as we play on the playground and go for walks.

We are winding down our year by completing student evaluations, learning about frogs, insects, plants and hatching chicks.

We will also celebrate God’s gift of “mothers” with a special Mother’s Day Tea.  We have invited a wonderful speaker for the Starburst moms – who will talk about “God’s Vision for Your Life”.

We look forward to more nice weather and lots of time outside!

Happy May!   Larene

STARBURST CHRISTIAN PRESCHOOL

offers

Socialization, Bible lessons, Music, Creative Expression, Science & Nature, Stories, Field Trips, Reading,Readiness, Arts & Crafts, Math Readiness, Language Art, Outdoor Playground, & Large Facilities for Indoor Play!

A wonderfully exciting and fun, educational program for 3, 4, and 5 year old children which encourages individual growth and development – we also provide a healthy environment where children can grow in God’s world and God’s Word through experience, interaction and exploration.

We have a certified director and teachers who are compassionate and experienced.  Our large facilities enable this program to help each child to grow to their fullest.

Our hours provide parents with a certain amount of flexibility and we encourage participation and communication between parents and teachers.

WHAT WILL YOUR CHILD RECEIVE AT STARBURST?

Our purpose is: To offer the good news of God’s love in the context of a caring community;to help students develop a healthy personality, form Christian values, develop the conscience, feeling and attitudes which form the foundation for a positive self-image and good relationships;to encourage the child’s skill in listening, self-expression, independent work and play and decision making;to provide a healthy environment where a child can grow in God’s world through experience, interaction and exploration with the guidance of Christian teachers.

Thank you for your consideration!

   February 2008’s update:

January’s warm spell was a welcome sight for our students. We enjoyed walks and some long overdue fun on the outdoor playground. The dinosaur stew and the Triceratops sippers (don’t they sound yummy?!) were big hits with our preschoolers, as they enjoyed one of their favorite stories, Saturday Night At The Dinosaur Stomp.   The four year olds delighted the three year olds with their version of “Penguins Are My Favorite Sort of Frog”, and the three year olds entertained the four year olds with “A Dinosaur Inside”. February brings the fun of Valentine’s Day, mug shots taken by our friends at the Warsaw Police department, a look at dental health and our monthly Fruit of the Spirit -Love.We’ve also begun enrolling students for the fall!Happy February!

January 2008’s update:

What a blessing December has been!

Assisted by the generosity of the Starburst parents we were able to send 4 large boxes of food and personal items to a marine stationed in Iraq, collect food for the food pantry, fill 18 Christmas shoeboxes, sing carols for the shoppers at Tops and the residents and staff of the Cloisters, and perform for a couple hundred people at our annual Christmas program. What a fun and busy December! Many thanks to all of the parents of the Starburst program for their many acts of kindness and support of our program.

January will slow down just a bit as we concentrate on more of the usual activities and learn more about dinosaurs, penguins and winter.

September 2007

“We’re back!!”
Greetings from Starburst -

This fall we enthusiastically welcome at least 43 preschoolers.

Our opening theme is “zoo animals” so you may be greeted by lions & tigers & bears if you dare to enter the Starburst preschool zoo area!

We will begin the season with a CURRENT products fundraiser. We invite anyone to peruse the Current catalogs which will be located in the East room on Sunday mornings through the end of October. Items include candles, wrapping paper, candy and fun holiday items. If you choose to, you may order items using the enclosed order forms. Place your order with the total amount due into an envelope which will also be supplied and leave it in the Starburst box in the East room. You may also go online to order at CurrentFun.com at anytime during the year.
Thank you for your support!

I encourage congregation members to come by the Starburst classrooms for a visit anytime. Perhaps you would like to volunteer or just come by to read a story. You would be most welcome!

Happy fall :-) .

Please remember the little children of the OCC as you do your shopping. Pamphlets that describe the program are available on the connection hall table. The very inexpensive school supplies now available at WalMart would be a great way to begin filling your box.

Thanks in advance! Larene
