What makes a Strawberry Social successful? Imagine seeing 172 flaky, yummy biscuits made from 15 pounds of flour, 3 pounds of Crisco, 6 quarts of buttermilk, along with other ingredients, 94 quarts of cleaned, hulled, and cut strawberries, dozens of hot dogs and rolls, gallons of ice cream and several containers of cool whip. But, the most important ingredient was the number of willing workers, like Elva Crawford assisted by Donna Perkins who made and then donated the biscuits. Thank you to all of you who worked with the berries, set up the tent and tables, cooked the hot dogs, served the hot dogs, shortcake and sundaes, and then all those who cleaned up! Our great crew earned approximately $650 which will be used to help purchase new tables for the church. And, of course, we greatly appreciate those who came, spent their money, and enjoyed the food and fellowship!
About 40 Board and committee members and their families enjoyed a picnic on Sunday, July 1, at the Carters. It was a lovely day, and everyone enjoyed the good food and good company, while they celebrated the work the church has accomplished with everyone’s help during the past year.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Ashor Allbright was born to our church’s adopted family, Lori and Andrew Allbright and daughter Isis, on July 4th. Ashor weighed in at 5 pounds 14 ounces.
Dad Andrew arrived in Warsaw from Colorado hours before their son’s arrival and was able to visit for 4 days. He expects to be deployed to Afghanistan this summer.
