Choirs

Welcome September and the new church year! As choir director, I’m asking for your help. The choir will meet Sunday, September 9 at 9:15 to prepare for our first anthem, “Come Share the Lord” (Hymnal # 696). All are welcome and encouraged to join us! The tune is easy and practically sings itself, and for anyone who likes to do harmony, there are parts for you, too!

Ensemble will continue to meet one Wednesday a month. I will be contacting Ensemble members to set a schedule. Thank you to current Ensemble members for sharing your time and talents. We would welcome new members as well!

If you play an instrument and would be interested in accompanying the choir, playing a solo, or perhaps in a group, please let me know! We’d love to highlight all your talents!

I’d also love to hear from any youth in grades 6-12 who are interested in forming a group to sing on occasional Sundays. We’ll pick contemporary music and we can work toward doing some challenging pieces. Come and make a joyful noise unto the Lord!

Please contact me with any suggestions or to volunteer. I can be reached at 786-8527 or by email at lbe_14569@yahoo.com. I’d love to hear from you and so would your congregation!

In Christ,
Lynn Saxton

Chancel Ringers

Over the summer the bells traveled with four ringers to a festival in Oswego, New York. We learned new things and heard new music we are looking forward to sharing with the congregation.

Chancel Ringers is open to anyone in grade 5 and beyond who has an interest in music and fun fellowship with “ding-a-lings”. Our first practice will be Sunday, September 23 right after church from 11:30-12:30. Hope to see experienced and new ringers!

New Choir Director

Lynn Saxton is Appointed Permanent Choir Director

The Session and Personnel Committee are pleased to announce that Lynn Saxton will be staying on as permanent choir director. We were most thankful for her faithful service during the interim period and, in response to requests from those involved in the music ministry, were pleased to invite her to assume the permanent position. Welcome, Lynn!
